Carers Training, Breaks and Events

Carers Training, Breaks and Events

Young Carers Service

The term young carer should be taken to include children and young people under 18 who provide ongoing care and emotional support to a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled or misuses substance

Young Adult Carers

Derbyshire Young Carers support young people as they transition into adulthood and independence while continuing to provide unpaid care.

Telephone Befriending Service (County Only)

Our Telephone Befriending service aims to provide a regular friendly phone-call (from a trained Volunteer) for companionship, a listening ear and support to isolated Carers living in Derbyshire (not Derby City) who are in NEED of social contact.

This specialist team help identify Carers at an early stage in their caring role, enabling early intervention and support to prevent a carers reaching crisis point.

How does the Emergency Planning Service Work?

Carers Personal Budget - Derbyshire County

A Carer Personal Budget (formally known as a Carer’s Break Award or Grant) is an amount of money arising from a carer assessment, which is to support you in your caring role. It is not means tested and if you are eligible for this, you have a wide choice about how the money is spent.
