Volunteer of the Year announced at Carers Ball
Our Annual Carers Ball held last Friday at the Post Mill Centre proved a huge success in many, many ways!
‘Probably our Best Carer’s Ball yet’ – with Carers from across the whole of Derbyshire hopping onto coaches or navigating the dangers of a very congested motorway – to flock to the Post Mill Centre at South Normanton – to dance the night away to music from a fabulous live band.
On the night, the man on the microphone and Compère for the evening was Narinder (he’s getting good at this). There was a huge raffle with lovely prizes, lots of Thorntons chocs on offer, a huge delicious buffet – and of course – a superb celebration cake especially decorated in DCA’s corporate colours.
Adding to the evening – DCA’s Volunteer of the Year was announced…. and with a roll on the drums – Lyn McNair was awarded a stunning engraved crystal bowl to mark her dedication, hard work, support and enthusiasm freely given to support our charity.
Lyn – who volunteers at our Chesterfield offices – (and like all of our workers) – does whatever is necessary to deliver DCA’s services to our Carers; one moment she’s working on our CATCH training, the next answering phones, sorting paperwork, filing, (or making speciality celebration cakes) – anything and everything to enable our services run smoothly.
Narinder personally thanked ALL our volunteers for their support, as he stated: ‘Where would we be without them?’
He added a ‘huge thank-you’ to everyone involved in making the Carers Ball such a success, the Ballroom was beautifully decorated, the organisation and logistics behind the scenes were, as ever, perfection and hugely appreciated – Well Done Everyone!’
Narinder, Lyn, Vicky Davison and Paul Lobley – with the band serenading in the background!
